Major Project: Soul Music (process)

In this post I will show the process of one of the drawings of my Major Project. The first one an the one that took me more time was the drawing that represents Soul Music. It took me about two entire days to complete it. Unfortunately, I don't have any screenshot of the first sketch, I was already adding colour when I took the first screenshot that there is in the post, but from there on I took a lot that shows the process and finally, the drawing.

For these I used the drawing app - Scketchbook and as inspiration/reference a photo taken in New York in the 1950's. I started by sketching some of the general shapes and then adding colour. There are various layers in the drawing, for example the black objects are in one layer, the ground in another, the lights are also in another one, and then the buildings.

Here I started to add more colours and some shadows.

I added some more reflections and completed some spaces that were missing.

And here I gave some of the final touches, bluring and smudging it.

And finally, I added the man that I talked about in my post about each drawng and genre, this was the result:

This drawing was the most difficult to do for me, since it has a lot of details and reflections which implies the use of many different colours and different tools in order to represent it as better as possible.
