Final Project: discussion of ideas

I already have an idea of what I am thinkng to do for my project. However, I am still unsure about the style and media I am going to use and my sign off meeting is already in this week. For this reason I felt like it was important to research the techinques I am thinking to use. Nevertheless, I know that I will just be able to choose completely once I start to sketch but to do this I need to make research about my concept.

Media and Styles

So far I am thinking about or using the app Krita to make the 2D outcomes or painting it with watercolours or gansai (traditional Japanese watercolours). I thought about using india ink since it is similar to iroshizuku ink (Japanese ink) but there is not much variety of colours on the place where I live and due to the pandemic it takes too long to order and rececive it. For this reason and as I mentioned before I opted to look for digital and watercolour illustrations.

I already took a look of which type of illustrations I am interested to do and in case I opt to use watercolours or gansai I am going to do this type of representations:

I believe that these recall the Japanese culture and that would look good to represent the kamis that I am going to choose. Unfortunately, I was not able to found neither the artists behind these illustrations nor its tittles. 

On the other hand, if I chose to use the programme Krita I would like to do something a little bit different:

I know that I will not be able to do such paintings but in this case what's important is how they are represented: the hair, clothes and accessories. I will develop some research about the traditional Japanese clothes and hairstyles and try to incorporate this on my project but I wanted to keep this illustrations in mind.

Both of these materials and styles would be interesting to develop and would imply for me to get out of my comfort zone since I rarely use these materials and I do not have much experience working with these. For this reason I believe that starting to sketch as soon as possible will be the best option for me so that I can get used to this materials and develop my work the best I can.
