Class Development Exercise
During the class we had the opportunity to experiment a method of idea development. It was presented 3 different methods but I chose the method entitled: Mountain and valley.
Method: Mountain and valley
I had to draw an mountain and a valley. After doing this I could do two different approaches: "look at your ideas and pick the one that you like best and the theme you have chosen" or "create a signposted route through the valley and the mountain as to how you idea can become reality". I chose to do the last one since I have already decided each concept I am going to do.
Since the information in the drawing is a little bit basic I will explain everyting in here.
- Research about the seven deadly sins: In this part I will do further research about the concept itself as well as its history. This will allow me tu understand better the concept.
- Researh about artworks related to 7 deadly sins: There are many artist that have already done paintings about this theme. Therefore, I will further research about this topic and try to understand the elements they use to represent each sin.
- Research about each sin: As I said before there are 7 different sins and each one has its one meaning. In this part of the process I will do further research about each sin as well as symbols associated to it. I believe that symbols will help me to develop the idea of each painting.
- Sketches: After doing all the necessary research I will reflect about the information that I had discovered and then sketching the initial ideas.
- Development of the paintings: Although it might look simple, this will take me a lot of time especially because it is out of my comfort zone.
At the end of the day, this was a good exercise to help me visualize wha I need to do during the term to conclude the project in the best way possible.
I think this worked in terms of how you will do this and it is a good piece of development as I think this has created a structure in your mind as to the projects process - good
